A Useful Starting Point
The two-thirds rule.

A simple principle used by interior designers: your print should span roughly two-thirds of the width of the furniture it hangs above. It's a starting point, not a law — and the most common mistake is going too small, not too large. When in doubt, size up.

Your Print — ⅔ width

Aim for ⅔ the width of whatever it hangs above

Where our prints live.

These are real placements — not rules. A Grand in a hallway. A Small above a nightstand. Art finds its place wherever it's given one. Use these as a starting point and trust your instincts.

Small — Medium
The Hallway

A single print hung at eye level turns a corridor into something worth pausing in. Small works beautifully in tight spaces. Grand works too — especially in an entryway where first impressions matter.

Large — Grand
Above the Sofa

The most natural home for a print. Above a standard sofa, Large to Extra Large feels effortlessly right. Grand anchors an entire living room around a single image — and rarely feels too big.

Medium — Grand
The Bedroom

Above a bed is one of the best walls in a home. Medium works above a nightstand or console. Grand above the headboard — which you wake up to every morning — is one of the most rewarding places to put art.

Medium — Large
Dining Room

A horizontal print that mirrors the width of your dining table creates a cohesive, considered room. Coastal and scenic prints bring a calm, elevated atmosphere to meals.

Small — Medium
Home Office

Art in a workspace should ground you without distracting you. A well-chosen print behind a desk also elevates every video call — quietly saying something about taste without saying a word.

Any Size
Wherever It Calls to You

The best placement is the one that feels right when you live with it. Art has a way of finding its wall. If you're unsure, reach out — we're happy to help you think it through.

Before You Order

Grab painter's tape and mark the exact outside dimensions of the print on your wall. Step back and live with it for a day. It's the most reliable way to feel confident — and it almost always reveals you should go one size larger than you thought.
